City of Pittsburgh Announces Fourth of July Holiday Closures and Service Adjustments 

Pittsburgh, PA – In observance of Independence Day, all City of Pittsburgh offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, 2025. Normal operations will resume on Monday, July 7, 2025. 

Refuse and Bulk Waste Collection Delayed One Day 

Refuse, recycling, and bulk waste collection services normally scheduled for Friday, July 4 will be delayed by one day. Residents with scheduled Friday collections should place their materials out for pickup on Saturday, July 5, 2025. 

CitiParks Facility Schedule for July 4–5, 2025 

The following changes will be in effect for CitiParks facilities: 

  • Healthy Active Living Centers  CLOSED – Friday, July 4, 2025  Regular schedule resumes Monday, July 7, 2025 
  • Recreation Centers  CLOSED – Friday, July 4 through Saturday, July 5, 2025  Regular schedule resumes Monday, July 7, 2025 
  • Mellon Park Tennis Center  CLOSED – Friday, July 4, 2025 
  • Schenley Park Skating Rink  CLOSED – Friday, July 4, 2025 
  • Summer Food Service Program  CLOSED – Friday, July 4, 2025 
  • Northside Farmers Market  CLOSED – Friday, July 4, 2025 

Open Facilities on July 4 

  • Spray Parks  OPEN – Friday, July 4, 2025 
  • Swimming Pools  OPEN – Friday, July 4, 2025  The following pools will operate on holiday hours: 

Holiday Pool Schedule: 

  • Ammon, Bloomfield, Highland, Jack Stack, Magee, Moore, Ormsby, Phillips, Ream, Banksville, West Penn, Riverview, Schenley, and Westwood: 
  • 12PM – 1PM: Adult Lap Swim 
  • 1PM – 5:45PM: Open Swim  Note: Schenley Park Pool will not offer Adult Lap Swim due to capacity limits. 
  • McBride and Sue Murray Pools: 
  • 12PM – 4:45PM: Open Swim
