City Receives $1 Million Grant to Expand Recruitment Efforts for Public Safety First Responders
Pittsburgh, PA – Mayor Corey O’Connor and the Department of Public Safety have announced a new partnership with the Ross and Carol Nese Foundation, who have approved a $1 million grant towards recruitment efforts for public safety first responders.
“I’d like to thank the Nese Foundation for their shared commitment to the health and safety in our neighbors and communities and this generous grant to help recruitment efforts for public safety,” said Mayor O’Connor. “This will help us invest in the future of public safety by building up our staffing numbers, attracting the best public safety talent from across the country, recruiting a diverse workforce that reflects the Pittsburgh community, and creating job opportunities for veterans.”
The grant will fund staffing and operations for recruitment efforts for the City’s Public Safety bureaus. Recruitment efforts will support Mayor O’Connor’s initiative to invest in community safety.
The grant was approved by the Ross and Carol Nese Foundation Board and will be presented to Pittsburgh City Council next week.
