Pittsburgh, PA – The City of Pittsburgh’s pools will have added comfort this summer as Mayor Corey O’Connor and the Department of Parks and Recreation (CitiParks) announced today that, for the first time, City pools will have chairs and loungers. Nearly 300 have been purchased for pools citywide.
The chairs and loungers will be available at City pools in designated areas based on deck space and pool attendance numbers. Families and pool-goers can use the chairs on a first-come, first-served basis. The chairs and loungers will be available starting opening day for pools on June 15, 2026.
City pool season passes are available now for purchase at the Oliver Bath House and can be purchased at all outdoor pool locations starting on opening day. Passes are valid through May of 2027 at $30 for adults, $20 for adults over age 60, $60 for a family of four and free for children under 15 who live in the City. Free passes are also available for disabled veterans, active duty military and activated reservist guard members. More details can be found here.
As the City prepares for the pool season, CitiParks is continuing to recruit lifeguards. Those interested can fill out the lifeguard interest form to be trained and certified by the CitiParks Aquatic team with the next training class starting on May 6.
