CITIPARKS TO EXTEND OPENING OF 6 COOLING CENTERS TO JUNE 27 AMID FORECASTED HEATWAVE
Pittsburgh, PA – Due to the ongoing heatwave and forecasted temperatures expected to exceed 90 degrees for several days, CitiParks will operate six Healthy Active Living Centers as Cooling Centers through Friday, June 27, 2025—extending the original schedule to include Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27.
These six centers will provide residents with a safe, air-conditioned environment to escape the heat:

All residents are encouraged to take precautions during periods of extreme heat, especially older adults, young children, and those with underlying health conditions.
Note: CitiParks and the City of Pittsburgh will typically activate cooling centers when the forecasted highs are predicted to be above 90 degrees.
