Cake at the Courthouse: Celebrating 30 Years of Youth Mentoring in Pittsburgh

WHO: Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh and The Mentoring Partnership

Interview opportunities: Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato, Mayor Ed Gainey, The Mentoring Partnership Executive Director Colleen Fedor and various local mentoring program executives.

The Mentoring Partnership was founded in 1995 by Ambassador Dan Rooney of the Pittsburgh Steelers and George L. Miles, Jr., then head of WQED. As a capacity-building organization and the lead local authority on youth mentoring, TMP provides free training and services to 500+ programs serving 20,000+ kids in our region each year.

WHAT: Cake at the Courthouse to celebrate 30 years of strong relationships for all young people in SW PA.

Event begins at 2PM. with a brief program, followed by cake and mingling with local programs, elected officials and community leaders.

WHEN: Tuesday, June 17th from 2-3PM

WHERE: Allegheny County Courthouse Outdoor Courtyard, 436 Grant Street

Pittsburgh, PA 15219

(in case of inclement weather, event will be held indoors at the Courthouse Grand Staircase)

WHY: To celebrate 30 years of strong relationships for all young people in SW PA and celebrate the growth and impact of mentoring in our community.

Since 1995, The Mentoring Partnership has trained 40,500 volunteers and served 1,025 programs in our community, all to ensure that kids are surrounded by caring adults who can support them and help them thrive. Click here for additional info on mentoring in our region and beyond.
