CITIPARKS TO EXTEND COOLING CENTER OPERATIONS THROUGH WEDNESDAY, JULY 30, AMID EXTREME HEAT

Pittsburgh, PA – With temperatures forecasted to exceed 90 degrees on Tuesday, July 29, and Wednesday, July 30, 2025, CitiParks will continue operating Cooling Centers at six Healthy Active Living Centers to provide residents with relief from the extreme heat.

These six centers will provide residents with a safe, air-conditioned environment to escape the heat on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 AM – 7 PM:

Beechview Healthy Active Living Community Center  

1555 Broadway Avenue  

Pittsburgh, PA 15216  

 

Brighton Heights Healthy Active Living Community Center  

3515 McClure Avenue  

Pittsburgh, PA 15212  

 

Greenfield Healthy Active Living Community Center  

745 Greenfield Avenue  

Pittsburgh, PA 15217  

 

Homewood Healthy Active Living Community Center  

7321 Frankstown Road  

Pittsburgh, PA 15208  

 

Sheraden Healthy Active Living Community Center  

720 Sherwood Avenue  

Pittsburgh, PA 15204  

 

South Side Healthy Active Living Community Center  

12th & Bingham Streets  

Pittsburgh, PA 15203  

All residents are encouraged to take precautions during periods of extreme heat, especially older adults, young children, and those with underlying health conditions.

  • Note: CitiParks and the City of Pittsburgh will typically activate cooling centers when the forecasted highs are predicted to be above 90 degrees.
