VCU Detectives Investigate Non-Fatal Shooting in Homewood

At 8:40 p.m., Zone 5 officers were dispatched to the 7200 block of Frankstown Ave. for a two-round ShotSpotter alert.

Arriving officers located a male victim on nearby Idlewild St. who had suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks. Medics transported him to the hospital where he was last listed in stable condition.

A male suspect fled the area on foot toward Felicia Way.

Violent Crime Unit and Crime Scene Unit detectives responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
