UPDATE: Pittsburgh Police Investigate Stabbing in Allegheny West

UPDATE: Gerald Harris, 62, of Pittsburgh, faces two felony counts of aggravated assault in connection with this incident. Additionally, Harris faces the following charges in connection with his arrest on February 8, 2026: felony flight to avoid apprehension, and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and evading arrest or detention.

Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Zone 1 officers responded to the 900 Block of Western Avenue in the Allegheny West neighborhood for a stabbing that is believed to have occurred just before midnight.

An adult male victim who sustained a single stab wound to the abdomen was transported by private means to a local hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

Preliminary information indicates an altercation occurred inside an establishment. An adult male suspect reportedly stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene. The suspect is known to the victim.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
