Police Investigate South Side Stabbing Incident

Just after 3 a.m., police were flagged down in the 1800 block of E. Carson Street for a reported altercation that resulted in an aggravated assault.

The male told police he stabbed another male in the right side of his cheek in self-defense. Officers separated the two individuals.

The male with the laceration to his cheek was transported to the hospital in stable condition. The other male also went to the hospital to be evaluated for an injury to his hand.

The investigation is ongoing.
