UPDATE: Charges against the juvenile female have been upgraded to criminal attempted homicide.

At approximately 5:00 p.m., Downtown Public Safety officers responded to a physical altercation in Market Square.
Preliminary information indicates a group of four juvenile females was involved in a physical altercation when one of the juveniles produced a knife and slashed another juvenile in the throat. The victim sustained a superficial slash wound. A second juvenile sustained a stab wound to the hand.
DPSC officers in the area responded to the scene immediately, where they used OC spray to break up the fight and detained the juvenile female actor.
Pittsburgh EMS transported both victims to a local hospital in stable condition. The two other juveniles were treated on scene for OC exposure.
Three juveniles will be cited and the juvenile female actor will be facing charges for aggravated assault.
