At approximately 2:30 p.m., EMS, Police, and Animal Care & Control officers were called to the 8400 block of Dersam St. for reports of two people attacked by a dog.

Upon arrival, they were met by the dog’s male owner, who had suffered bite wounds, as well as a female neighbor who had also been bitten by the same dog.

The owner self-transported to the hospital, while Pittsburgh EMS transported the female for treatment. Their wounds are not considered life-threatening.

Animal Care & Control officers took the dog to an emergency veterinary facility where it will be euthanized.

Another of the owner’s dogs was taken to Humane Animal Rescue Pittsburgh.
