VPU Detectives Make Multiple Gun and Drug Arrests Across Pittsburgh

Summary:
Violence Prevention Unit detectives operating citywide have made a number of narcotics and firearms arrests over the past week.
VPU Detectives were on patrol in the Carrick neighborhood on February 28, 2024 when they observed a male who appeared to be armed. The male attempted to conceal himself behind a parked vehicle, at which time detectives made contact and recovered a firearm from his waistband.
Taylon Streeter, 23, was charged with Carrying A Firearm Without A License.
On Friday, March 1, 2024 VPU detectives conducted a traffic stop at South Braddock Avenue and Sanders Street in Regent Square. During the traffic stop Andre Yates, 24, and Brandon Diggs, 24, both of Penn Hills, and Armoni Burton, 23, of Greesnburg, were arrested with the following evidence seized: 13 bricks of heroin, fentanyl pills, and a small amount of marijuana & mushrooms. In addition, a total of $8372.00 in U.S currency was also recovered.
And on Saturday, March 2, VPU detectives conducted a search warrant as a result of an ongoing investigation at a residence in the 1100 block of Buente Street. As a result of the search warrant, Deria Mahone, 28, and Dejon Fuller, 27, were arrested. During the execution of the search warrant there were over 70 bricks of heroin and $5283.00 seized.
Each faces multiple narcotics-related charges.
