Police Investigate North Side Assault; Victim Found in Rankin

Summary:

Just before 2 a.m., Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) contacted Zone 1 with a request to search in the 200 block of North Shore Drive for a possible crime scene after troopers responded to an apartment in Rankin for reports of a male who was stabbed.

The male stated to PSP that it happened outside McFadden's Bar on the North Side earlier in the evening, during a fight with another male.

PIttsburgh Police located a blood trail on the sidewalk and were able to view security footage from outside the bar. From the video it appears the victim is being punched in the side of his stomach multiple times. The actor runs down the street to a vehicle before driving away.

The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but later upgraded to stable. Plainclothes detectives from Zone 1 are reviewing all private and city camera footage and will continue with the investigation.
