Date: October 14, 2024 Incident Type: Stabbing Location: Zone 5 Summary:
Just before 5:00 a.m., Pittsburgh Police from Zone 5 were dispatched to the 6800 block of Lyric Street in Homewood West for reports of a stabbing.
Arriving officers located an adult female victim inside a residence with a stab wound to her chest. Officers attempted to render aid until medics arrived, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A possible altercation might have occurred before the victim was stabbed.
The Mobile Crime Unit responded to the scene to process all evidence, including continuing to review video footage from the area.
Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.
There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
