PBF Dispatched to Two Vehicle Fire Incidents in Three Days

In three days, Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire was dispatched to two vehicle fire incidents that damaged three automobiles in Zone Five.

On August 24, at approximately 5 a.m., a caller reported two vehicle fires along the 1100 block of Paulson Avenue. Firefighters established the vehicles belonged to separate owners.

This incident is still under investigation, but is considered suspicious in nature.

On August 26, firefighters responded to a vehicle fire on the 5100 Block of Cypress Street at approximately 4:30 a.m.

The owner reported her electric vehicle caught fire near the front/trunk area. Engine 6 extinguished the fire quickly after it damaged some of the overhead utility wires.

The Mobile Crime Unit processed evidence from both scenes.

The Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the exact cause of the fire.
