Christmas Tree Recycling Program
In an effort to provide a sustainable alternative for residents to dispose of their trees after the holiday season, the city will offer temporary drop-off locations from December 26-January 26. In 2019 over 21 tons of Christmas Trees were diverted from the landfill! Due to such success, the Bureau of Environmental Services has expanded the Christmas tree recycling program to three new locations this year.

After collection, trees will be taken to the Forestry Division and chipped onsite into mulch for residents to pick up sometime in the spring. Individuals will be able to pick up the pine mulch which is useful for vegetable gardens and other beautification projects. Residents interested in picking up mulch for their 2020 spring garden may attend four Saturday collection events but they must bring their own buckets, gloves and shovels.
All dates, hours, and final location for the mulch collection events are TBD. Please check at a later date for more details.
