Just after 10:30 a.m., Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Forbes Avenue and Pride Street in the city’s Uptown/Bluff neighborhood for a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision.
Officers were the first to arrive on scene and located an adult male victim who was deceased. Medics arrived moments later to make the official pronouncement.
The early investigation indicates the victim was stumbling along the sidewalk before falling into the roadway.
The adult male driver was highly cooperative with police and remained at the scene.
Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating.
In the upcoming weeks, the city’s Vision Zero Fatal Crash Response Team, which includes the Pittsburgh Police Collision Investigation Unit, will complete a site visit to evaluate potential crash factors. After the site visit, additional updates will be made available on the Vision Zero Working Group's Engage Page.
