The City of Pittsburgh’s administrative offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026 in observance of Memorial Day. Additional public facilities and services will also be closed or delayed due to the holiday.
Environmental Services
On Monday, May 25, 2026, there will not be refuse, bulk waste and recycling collection and all drop-off sites will be closed. Collections will be delayed by one day as follows:
Residents can see their scheduled collection days, including holiday schedules, on the annual collection schedule and newsletter. Residents with questions can contact the Bureau of Environmental Services at 412-255-2773.
Parks & Recreation (CitiParks)
All CitiParks facilities will be closed on Memorial Day, with the exception of Spray Parks, which will open for the season on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily, weather permitting.
Parking Authority
In observance of Memorial Day, the Pittsburgh Parking Authority will have free holiday parking at most on-street and surface parking lots, with the exception of the North Shore where there is no street parking for the Pittsburgh Pirates game. Please check all signage and meters when parking.

$6.00 - Event rate of $12.00 starting at 4:00 PM for the Pirates game
