Progress will depend on elected officials at all levels of government working together as closely as possible. On the local level, it’s time for City Council, the Administration and the Controller’s office to strategize and act cooperatively to build a better future for all city residents, families, and neighborhoods. During my campaign, I promised to participate and help create a more cooperative atmosphere on Grant Street and I am committed to that task.

The hallmark of my service on Council will be a steady focus on finding ways to keep the energy of the 5th District targeted on practical and innovative ways to strengthen and improve our quality of life. We are always seeking new ways for everyone to participate to the fullest extent possible. And that’s why I’m asking each of you to be our extra eyes and ears in helping to identify problems that need to be addressed, in fostering ideas that can help our neighborhoods grow, and in encouraging your friends and family to become active participants in community service. As we identify specific projects, we will be letting you know about opportunities for your participation.

I want to hear from you. My office will have an open door and open communication policy. I will be accessible as will my able and experienced staff. Stop in, call (412-255-8965), or e-mail me at corey.oconnor@pittsburghpa.gov.
Wed, 18 Jan 2012 14:24:07 -0500
