The Operations Branch, under the command of Assistant Chief William Bochter, includes six police zones and the Special Deployment Division (SDD) which includes Traffic, Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), Street Response Unit (SRU), Collision Investigation Unit, Explosives Ordinance Disposal team, and the staff at the Tow Pound.

The Investigations Branch, under the command of Assistant Chief Maurita Bryant, investigates and solves crimes against persons and property. This branch also includes the Office of Family Violence and Missing Persons, as well as Narcotics and Vice, which combats illegal drug manufacture, distribution, sale and use.

The Administration Branch includes the Training Academy, School Crossing Guards, Personnel & Finance, Support Services, and Research and Special Events Planning.
