PROPOSALS RECEIVED TODAY FOR CITY’S PARKING SYSTEM TRIGGER 'BEST AND FINAL OFFER' PROCESS
Best and Final Offer process designed to ensure City receives best proposal; final proposals due Mon., Sept. 20

Mayor Luke Ravenstahl today announced the final stage of the request for proposal selection process for the proposed public-private partnership 50-year lease of the City’s parking garages and meters.
The proposals, due at 4 p.m. today, triggered the Best and Final Offer (BAFO) process due to the fact that one or more proposals was within 10 percent of the highest proposal. The City will not be announcing how many proposals were received, or how many proposals will enter into BAFO, in order to ensure that the process stays as competitive as possible.

“This competitive process puts the City in a very good position to make sure that we receive the highest number possible, taking into consideration that the ultimate number will reflect the liability the operator will assume and the guidelines the operator must follow to protect residents and parkers,” Ravenstahl said.

The City’s ability to enter into a BAFO competition was stated in the RFP in order to maximize the proposals’ values. Each pre-qualified operator qualifying for the BAFO will be eligible to submit a new proposal by 4 p.m., Mon., Sept. 20. The public will be informed of the operator for the proposed partnership Monday.
