Mayor Luke Ravenstahl today announced the appointment of Tajuana Stephenson to the position of assistant director, City Information Systems (CIS).
In addition to a master's degree in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, Ms. Stephenson has more than 20 years of solid work experience in administration, project management and information technology.
"Tajuana's story is one of hard work and achievement," Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said. "Ms. Stephenson jumpstarted her career with the City 20 years ago and has since worked her way up to high-level management. Tajuana has the perfect combination of experience and education that will make her an extremely effective manager."
During her employment with CIS, Ms. Stephenson has been responsible for help desk management, training, financials and the Web team. Most recently, she has been in charge of software development and has worked on projects to integrate the City's code enforcement and permitting functions.
"Tajuana has held numerous positions of responsibility at CIS and has proven to be an exemplary employee at every level," CIS director and chief information officer Howard Stern said.
Ms. Stephenson will replace Trudy Williams, who has been the assistant director of CIS since 2004. Ms. Williams has accepted the position of assistant provost at Point Park University.
The effective date of this appointment will be Monday, August 4, 2008.
