Fans must visit the City’s Facebook page for details
(PITTSBURGH) July 16, 2012 In celebration of the release of the largest feature film to be filmed in Pittsburgh, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl today launched a Facebook contest urging fans to send the City a video (one minute or less), or message (100 words or less), explaining why they are the biggest Batman fan. The winner will receive two free passes from The Pittsburgh Film Office for an advanced screening of Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, at the Loews Waterfront. The winner will also be invited to the Mayor’s Proclamation Thursday filming in order to accept the City’s official proclamation declaring it ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Day in the City of Pittsburgh.
“This week, we’re celebrating the release of one of the world’s most highly anticipated movies filmed right here in ‘America’s Most Livable City,’” Ravenstahl said. “What this film has already done for Pittsburgh’s stature is nothing compared to what it will do when it premieres this week and sets box office records. Pittsburgh is the ‘Hollywood of the East’ and this translates into increased pride amongst residents and more economic opportunity for local small businesses and union crews.”
