UPDATE: THE MAYOR’S 311 LINE IS NOW SCHEDULING ONE-ON-ONE APPOINTMENTS FOR ASSISTANCE WITH REASSESSMENT APPEALS INCLUDING FILLING OUT FORMS, GETTING APPRAISALS, AND PROVIDING LEGAL ADVICE. QUALIFYING RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO CALL 311 TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. QUALIFYING RESIDENTS:

THE CITY OF PITTSBURGH AND PITTSBURGH PUBLIC SCHOOLS WILL USE THE OLD ASSESSMENTS (2002 BASE YEAR SYSTEM) FOR THE 2012 TAX BILLS. THE NEW ASSESSMENT NUMBERS WILL BE USED IN 2013. THEREFORE, WE ARE STILL ENCOURAGING ALL RESIDENTS WHO BELIEVE THEY HAVE RECEIVED AN UNFAIR OR INACCURATE PROPERTY REASSESSMENT FROM ALLEGHENY COUNTY TO FILE A FORMAL APPEAL BY APRIL 2, 2012.
Allegheny County is the governing body responsible for determining the values of every property and structure located within the City. We understand that this reassessment process has been very frustrating for property owners and we want to help eliminate your confusion by offering appeal assistance.
