Explore the City of Pittsburgh's Black History Month exhibit in the lobby of the City-County Building weekdays 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. throughout February. “Enslavement & Freedom: Early African-American Life in Pittsburgh” feature dozens of artifacts from Africa and Pittsburgh, both pre- and post-slavery, including documentation from the first-ever Black bank in Pittsburgh, authentic slave shackles, the 1840 U.S. census, a 10’x 8’ handwoven kente cloth and a 600-year-old drinking vessel.
