City of Pittsburgh Council District 6
Renovation and conversion of the The former Masonic Temple at 118 West North Avenue and the former Garden Theater has been approved to become a new mixed use development in the heart of the Central Northside neighborhood.
The first floor of the former Masonic Temple will provide a new home for the City of Asylum. This new space will allow the non-profit to not only continue their program in the same neighborhood they started, but also expand their offerings and outreach to the entire city. The residential units consist of one (1) one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment, (6) two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments, and one (1) three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment.
For the Garden Theater, the building will be converted into a restaurant space consisting of 4,200 sqaure feet and the upper floor office space consisting of 2,000 square feet. The construction of both the Masonic and Garden Theater projects will commence this month. The developmental plans for Bradberry Apartments are in the works to be part of the overall Garden Theater block redevelopment.
The District Six office will continue to provide further updates on these exciting redevelopment news.
