Chief of Staff
Dan Wood is the Chief of Staff for the District 6 office. He manages the council office, assists the Councilman in researching policy and legislation, and represents the office at meetings and community events. Dan originally came to Pittsburgh from New Jersey to attend Carnegie Mellon University, where he obtained a BA in English. He is currently enrolled at CMU to obtain a Masters in Public Management, and was previously employed at the Hispanic Center as an Employment Specialist. In his spare time, Dan is an avid soccer player and enjoys playing the bass guitar.
Cassandra M. Williams
Community Relations Manager
Cassandra M. Williams is a Community Relations Manager to Councilman Lavelle. She assists the Councilman in community engagement, handles community affairs throughout the district, manages community projects, as well as creates and circulates District 6 communications. Cassandra was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Phoenix and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Theology at the Erie Bible College. Cassandra has a passion for community development and a dedication to building processes that uplift people socially and economically. In her spare time, she likes to envision/plan and choreograph/dance.
Joseph D. Williams (J.D.)
Joseph D. "J.D." Williams is a Legislative Aid to Councilman Lavelle. He assists the Councilman in legislative research, communications, scheduling and administrative tasks. J.D. was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA and is a die hard Steeler fan. J.D. has a passion for community engagement especially in the mentoring and aid of youth. J.D. resides in the historic Manchester neighborhood of Pittsburgh's North Side where his family has called home for over 100 years.
