City of Pittsburgh Council District 6
Pertinent Community Meetings Taking Place this Week- April 16-18

This message serves as a notice for important community meetings taking place this week. I encourage everyone to attend and share your input:
  • On Tuesday, April 16th, a Residential Permit Parking re-certification meeting for the Bluff in Uptown will take place at Shepherd's Heart Fellowship located at 13 Pride Street. The community meeting will begin at 6:30 pm.
  • On Wednesday, April 17th, there will be a community meeting on the Lower Hill development. This meeting will be a follow up to the first meeting which took place last Wednesday on April 10th. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss and receive input on the development of the Civic Arena site. The meeting will take place in the third floor conference room in the Thelma Lovette YMCA at 2114 Centre Avenue. The meeting will begin at 6:00 pm.
  • On Thursday, April 18th, a community meeting will be held on the application for  the expansion of the Mexican War Streets historic district. This meeting will serve to provide information to review the facts of the historic district and the application process for historic district designations. The meeting will take place in the banquet hall of 302 W. North Avenue.
I would also like to add a thank you to the participants, coaches, sponsors, and everyone that came out in support for the second annual 3-on-3 youth basketball tournament. It was a successful event that brought out young people from throughout the district for a fun and positive day. The basketball tournament is part of our office's "Fit in Six" initiative, which aims to provide opportunities to our constituents to engage in active and healthy activities.
Thank you,
R. Daniel Lavelle
