PHASE 1- SNOW WARNING ALERT
Snow Advisory Message

Greetings- 

Please be advised that the Department of Public Works has notified our office of a snow alert that is set to go in effect this evening into tomorrow morning:

PHASE 1 - SNOW WARNING ALERT

2" - 4"   forecasted snow

  • Full compliment of crews will be working 12-hour shifts around the clock. (AS NEEDED)
  • All DPW vehicles and equipment put into salt/plow mode.
  • Large equipment concentrating on primary routes.
  • Small equipment assigned to secondary routes.

STORM WARNING INFORMATION:

Probability of Occurrence - 90%

Storm Timing

  • Beginning - 3:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m. - Tomorrow
  • Ending - 12:00 p.m.  - 3:00 p.m.  - Saturday

Snowfall Accumulation

  • 2-4 inches

Temperatures

  • Early - 34
  • Middle - 26
  • Late - 32

Expected Road Conditions

  • Road problems to begin between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Friday
  • Main roads snow covered
  • Secondary roads snow covered
  • Ramps and bridges freezing

Remarks:  Occasional light snow develops near daybreak and continues into Saturday.  The heaviest snowfall is expected Friday afternoon into early Saturday morning.

Please be advised that our 311 Service Center, will not be accepting calls for streets to be cleared DURING a snow event.  Our goal is to have streets treated within 24 hours once the snow has quit falling.  Please contact 311 if your street has not been cleared 12 to 24 Hours AFTER the snow has stopped falling.

In the event of a Medical, Police or Fire Emergency Dial 911. 

Simply a Reminder of Ordinance 419.03

 419.03    REMOVAL OF SNOW AND ICE.

                Every tenant, occupant or owner having the care or charge of any land or building fronting on any street in the city, where there is a sidewalk paved with concrete, brick, stone or other material shall, within 24 hours after the fall of any snow or sleet, or the accumulation of ice caused by freezing rainfall, cause the same to be removed from the sidewalk.

WHEN CLEARING SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAYS, IT IS ILLEGAL TO THROW SNOW INTO THE STREET!
