City of Pittsburgh Council District 6
PUBLIC HEARING ON REAPPORTIONMENT MAP
Public Hearing to be Held to Review the Preliminary Reapportionment Map Presented by the Reapportionment Committee

Greetings,

As you may already be aware, City Council is in the process of reapportioning the City’s Council District lines. Every 10 years, when the US census is released, Council is tasked with redrawing district lines to meet the “1 person, 1 vote” criteria, whereby district populations are as equal in number as possible.

To this end, City Council established a Reapportionment Committee to draft a preliminary map for Council review. The preliminary map will be presented to the public in a public hearing to be held today, November 20, 2012 at 1:00pm in the Council Chambers. Please join us to relay your thoughts, ideas and concerns on the proposal.

Respectfully,

R. Daniel Lavelle
