HIGHLAND PARK HOSTS JAZZ CONCERT & LINE DANCING OVER LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Head to Highland Park for the final “Reservoir of Jazz” concert of 2016 when Daniel May with Zero Ted perform on Sunday, September 4, from 5 – 7 p.m.  Stay after the concert for “Summer Soul Line Dancing” from 7 – 9 p.m.

Take a walk in Frick Park and discover zany fun from A to Z at Alphabet Trail and Tales.  Larger-than-life hand-painted story sets create a backdrop for a day of reading and fun. Follow the Alphabet Trail to enjoy art, music, games and activities.

DOLLAR BANK JUNIOR GREAT RACE SET FOR SEPTEMBER 17

Junior Great Racers will run, trot and crawl at this family friendly event in Point State Park.  Festivities will include medals, mascots, entertainment, refreshments and much more.

LABOR DAY HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

Several Citiparks facilities will adjust operating schedules on Monday, September 5, in observance of Labor Day.
 
OPEN ON HOLIDAY -- Weather permitting, all six Citiparks swimming pools will be open from 1 - 5:45 p.m. 
Labor Day serves as the final day of operation for Citiparks outdoor pools:  HIGHLAND PARK, JACK STACK (Brighton Heights), MOORE (Brookline), ORMSBY (South Side) REAM (Mt. Washington) and SUE MURRAY (North Side).
OPEN ON HOLIDAY – Weather permitting, Spray Parks will be open from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
OPEN ON HOLIDAY -- Mellon Park Tennis Center, Shadyside (regular operating hours)
 
CLOSED ON HOLIDAY -- Citiparks' 10 recreation centers and 14 Healthy Active Living centers for seniors
CLOSED ON HOLIDAY -- Farmers' Market in East Liberty

Mark your calendar for the 21st running of the “Dollar Bank Junior Great Race” on Saturday, September 17, in Point State Park.  Youngsters will run, trot and crawl before receiving medals.  Register your kids today!

Citiparks’ six free spray parks are open daily (weather permitting).  Let your imagination run wild as movement sensors cause sprayers to magically turn on and off in this three-dimensional world of water.  Operating 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. are Beechview, Mellon and Troy Hill.  Operating Noon – 7 p.m. are Burgwin, East Hills and Warrington.
