FREE FAMILY FUN SEPT . 12 AT "ALPHABET TRAIL AND TALES"

Take a walk in Frick Park and discover zany fun from A to Z at Alphabet Trail and Tales.  Larger-than-life hand-painted story sets create a backdrop for a day of reading and fun. Follow the Alphabet Trail to enjoy art, music, games and activities.

5th ANNUAL FIREHOUSE CHILI COOK-OFF SET FOR SEPTEMBER 14

 Firefighters from Eight Engine and Truck Company will host the fifth annual Firehouse Chili Cook-Off on Monday, September 14, at the Citiparks East Liberty Farmers’ Market.  Sample chili and pick up fire safety and prevention information from 3:30 – 6 p.m.
 

SOUTH SIDE MARKET HOUSE CELEBRATES CENTENNIAL

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the South Side Market House is one of the last two remaining 19th century market houses in the City of Pittsburgh. This landmark, designed by Pittsburgh architect Charles Bickel, was constructed in 1893 and completely rebuilt in 1915 following a devastating fire. 

"SUMMER SOUL LINE DANCING" ROCKS CITY PARKS

Step out to five parks this summer for free dance lessons. Instructor Roland Ford incorporates R&B music in classes that begin with basic steps and finish with more advanced moves.

20th ANNIVERSARY "DOLLAR BANK JUNIOR GREAT RACE" SET FOR SEPTEMBER 19

Register today for a day of family fun and fitness as kids 12 and younger take on the challenge of the Family Fun Run, Tot Trot or Diaper Dash.  The festivities in Point State Park will include giveaways, refreshments, strolling performers, mascots and a performance by Pittsburgh Musical Theater Xtreme Broadway and PMTweens.

RIVERVIEW PARK UPDATE

The roadway leading to the Allegheny Observatory is closed for road reconstruction, utility work and parking lot improvements through October.  During construction, the Observatory, dog park and tennis courts are closed.
