Most City offices will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, 2013.

• There will be no refuse, bulk waste or recycling collection on Monday, May 27. If the holiday falls on or before your regular collection day, your pickup day will be one day later.

In observance of Memorial Day, several Citiparks facilities will adjust their operating schedules.  On Monday, May 27, 2013:

• Citiparks 10 community centers will be closed.
• Citiparks 14 Healthy Active Living Centers for seniors will be closed.
• Oliver Bath House indoor swimming pool will be closed.
• Farmers Market in East Liberty will not take place.

The recent tragedy that saw a tornado devastate several Oklahoma counties should serve as a reminder for us that preparedness and understanding alerts and dangers are supremely important. Pittsburgh has had tornados in the past, and severe weather is ever present during Pittsburgh's change of seasons. Register now for the 7th Annual Bob O'Connor Summer Tennis Classic scheduled for June 15-23, 2013. The entry deadline for this year's competition is June 11, 2013.

Register now for the 36th running of the Richard S. Caliguiri Great Race, which will take place on Sunday, September 29, 2013. A cap of 15,500 runners/walkers has been set for this year's race.
